Welcome to Garland! With four of the most beautiful and spectacular championship golf
courses in the nation, Garland offers guests an exceptional golfing experience. The
natural backdrop of 3,500 acres of unspoiled wilderness provides the perfect setting for
four courses - Fountains, Swampfire, Monarch, and Reflections. Each hole has its own
unique character and design including rolling-meadows, lakes, streams, mature hardwoods,
and dramatic elevation changes. To add to your golfing experience, the sights and sounds
of natural wildlife abound including nesting bald eagles, deer and foxes. Plus, with all
our courses starting from a single pro shop, well spend more time on the course! We will play the Fountains course on Friday at noon, then Swampfire on Saturday morning. After lunch, we'll play Reflections and round out our day with the traditional steak cookout, prepared by the resort's fine dining staff. Our championship round starts at 10:00am Sunday on the Monarch course, and afterward we'll present trophies, prizes, keepsakes, and distribute Skins payoffs. It is still undecided at this point if we are playing 27 or 36 holes on Saturday. I'm working on a way to get 36 in before dark, but you should only count on 27. I suspect that with Garland's excellent facilities, proximity to Detroit, and the fantastic price, this will be another big year for the outing. Regreattably, we will again have to limit reservations to twenty-eight players because (with any more than that) it's almost impossible to finish in daylight. ALL I NEED FROM YOU IS A COMMITMENT. Once again, there is a demand for our spots and an obligation to guarantee our reservations with a deposit, which I've advanced for our whole group. As always, if you attended last year, you have first shot at a position this year, but dont push your luck. For everyone who played last year, I'll hold a guaranteed spot until I get your deposit or June 10th, whichever comes first. After that, the spots will be allocated in order of deposits received. Considering how many guys have told me they'd like to go this year, I think it would be a good idea to reserve your spot early with the non-refundable deposit of just $99. The balance will be due by July 31st, though you're welcome to send the entire $399 up front, which gets it out of the way and makes accounting easier (which I appreciate). I don't want anybody thinking they're not welcome if they don't send $99 today, but I'd really appreciate getting it by the end of May. As always, if you know someone who would be a fun addition to our
group, you are welcome to invite them (though keeping in mind this is the old GUYS golf outing). As
this event has traditionally been all-male, we have again released our sponsors and
forfeited television rights this year, to avoid any coercion or negative publicity by
special interest groups. We're hoping law enforcement officials in Lewiston will ensure a
minimum of picketing and interference with our right to an exclusionary outing and pursuit
of masculine freedoms. Please feel welcome to contact me by email (preferred) or phone
if you have any questions. Dont forget to check our website
frequently, as Ill be updating it with player commitments, financials, resort
and course information, relevant links, etc. The web address and all my contact
information are listed below. I really look forward to seeing you at our 20th annual
outing in September! Please feel welcome to direct questions about any of our outings to Tim Galea at tim@nortonsflowers.com. Regards,
